How Much Do Meals Cost

Cost of Meals (effective 1st July 2022)

The full cost of a Main Meal is $17.70 plus GST (if applicable)

The cost of a Main Meal delivered to clients who are over 65, with a My Aged Care subsidy, are as follows.

(Main Meal = Hot/Chilled/Frozen/Salad)

Meal Pack (Main Meal + Soup + Sweet)                  $13.00

Main Meal Only                                                        $11.00

Sandwich (if ordered with a Main Meal)                   $  6.00

Dessert                                                                      $  4.00

Soup                                                                          $  3.50

If A Sandwich is purchased by itself, the Cost is $11.00 If You purchase a Soup and/or a Dessert with that sandwich the cost is $12.00.

Payment.

Payment can be made at the time of delivery or on a weekly or fortnightly basis.  (We do allow some customers to pay monthly, but the payment must be made strictly with 14 days of the Month end.)

St. Andrews Meals on Wheels Townsville accepts the following types of payments.

    CASH – if you want to pay by cash, the money must be in an envelope with your name and the amount written on the outside.  The volunteers do not carry cash with them, so they cannot give change.  They do carry receipt books with them, and they can issue a receipt for the money in the envelope.

    CHEQUE – please make the cheque payable to St. Andrews Meals on Wheels and place in an envelope.  Once again, if you require a receipt, the receipt can be issued as per the cash advice above.

    CREDIT CARD – You can pay by credit card by ringing the office (after 10:30am) and we can process the payment over the phone.  You may choose to give us your card details and we do a batch processing of credit card payments every Thursday morning, for the amount owing up to the Friday before.

    INTERNET BANKING – Our account details are – Bendigo Bank – BSB: 633-000 – Account: 129 792 073

    DIRECT DEBIT – This must be set up by you with your bank.  We can not change any details from the amounts etc. that you set up with your bank.  We cannot stop these payments either, it is up to you to notify your bank.  When setting this up, make sure the customer’s surname is in the reference field.

Changes and Cancellations

If you wish to change your selection, you can do so by contacting the office.  If the change is for that day, you must contact us before 8:30am. (For special meals, salads and sandwiches, you must advise us at least the day prior to delivery)

Who is Eligible

All Townsville residents. A health care subsidy may apply through My Age Care for Townsville residence, who because of age or disability are unable to prepare their own meals. All clients need to satisfy the eligibility criteria for assistance under the Home and Community Care (HACC) program.
